Wines from Italy Italy has always been a country of interest for me and my father since my grandparents were born in Italy in a small town in Calabria called Cosenza. I made a trip to Italy in June of 2008 for mainly a vacation and tried several Tuscan wines that I immediately fell in love with. Upon returning home, I immediately told my father what I had discovered and we began to plan a trip for the following year, researching areas we wanted to visit. We spent about a week in Italy doing a whirlwind tour of Venice, Padova, Florence, Montepulciano and Bologna. After tasting many, many wines we determined to focus on the Montepulciano region of Tuscany where we have made special arrangements with one of the top wineries to bottle special small lots of the typical wines from that region under our own private label, "Familigia DeRose".
This label, like all of our labels, was designed complements of my brother-in-law, Don Barnes Cellar Ideas . Down the road we will add wines from another producer from Bologna and anything else we might stumble upon in our travels.
